Web of Science is a collection of publication databases from Clarivate Analytics, which also offers citation data. Keeping a Web of Science profile is useful because it allows you to easily find up-to-date information about how your publications are being cited. Your Web of Science profile is public and visible to anyone who searches for your name on the site.
First you will need to find your author page on Web of Science:
Go to Web of Science and log in with your college username and password
Select Author Search in the bar above the search window
Type in your own name and search
On the author page, select 'Claim this record'
You will be prompted to sign in or register a Publons account. Once you set up your Publons account, changes to your publications list on Publons will automatically be updated on your Web of Science profile.
Publons is a research profile site which is connected to Web of Science. Having a Publons profile allows you both to control which publications appear in your Web of Science record, and to track your citation metrics, peer reviews, and journal editing work. To set up a Publons profile, go to https://publons.com and register. If you already have an account with Web of Science, you can use the same login details for Publons.
