Web of Science author profiles

Web of Science is a collection of publication databases from Clarivate Analytics, which also offers citation data. Keeping a Web of Science profile is useful because it allows you to easily find up-to-date information about how your publications are being cited. Your Web of Science profile is public and visible to anyone who searches for your name on the site.

How to claim your Web of Science author profile

First you will need to find your author page on Web of Science:

  • Go to Web of Science and log in with your college username and password
  • Select the Researchers search tab in the bar above the search window
  • Type in your own name and search
  • If more than one author record that belongs to you appears, you can select both and click on either 'Merge Records' (to merge them permanently) or 'View as combined record' (to temporarily view them as a merged record).
  • On the author page, select 'Claim this record'
  • You will be prompted to sign in or register a Web of Science account. Once you set up your account, you can make changes to your profile details and publications list.

Web of Science Researcher Profiles

Previously known as Publons, Web of Science Researcher profiles allows you both to control which publications appear in your Web of Science record, and to track your citation metrics, peer reviews, and journal editing work. To sign up for a profile, go to webofscience.com and register.

If you already had a Publons account set up, you can log in with the same credentials.
