The great majority of books received on electronic legal deposit (eLD) come in EPUB format. While this has advantages in terms of long-term preservation, it does mean that such ebooks lack page numbers, rendering traditional methods of citation impossible. The guide below provides a new method of citation specifically tailored for this circumstance. It is not intended to take precedence over any guidance provided by academic staff who may have a recommended style they want their students to follow.
Please note that journal articles received on eLD are mostly in PDF format and so have page numbers, as do e-resources (books and journals) to which the Library of Trinity College Dublin subscribes.
