Plan your Library visit: Ussher Library Basement Stock Relocation Project

Ussher Library Basement Stock Relocation Project

To facilitate the redevelopment of the Old Library, the basement of the Ussher Library will be cleared of current collections and redesigned as a temporary Research Collections study centre for the Early Printed Books and Manuscripts & Archives departments. This stock relocation project is expected to take 6 months. The Map Library will remain open throughout the process.

The stock relocation project involves moving collections spread across multiple sites, including the Santry Repository, the Ussher Library basement and the first floor of the Berkeley Library. While the moves are being prepared and implemented, selected collections will be temporarily unavailable, though we will do our best to facilitate urgent requests (which can be made via library@tcd.ie).

Here is a breakdown of the key moves and their impact on the availability of materials:

  • HL-33-1 to HL-59-999 (unavailable until 03 September 2021)
  • PL-1-1 to PL-132-999 (unavailable until end of September 2021)
  • HL-60-1 to HL-77-999 (unavailable from November 10 to 8 December 2021)

Changes to the availability of collections will be updated if the schedule needs to be adjusted.
